How to Maintain Your Candle
If you’re looking for a long, clean, and stable burn you’ll want to follow these steps when taking care of your Wild Ruby candle.
Like a spa day... for your candle
Trim your wicks before subsequent burns
Wild Ruby candles come with a pre-trimmed wick, so light that baby up!
For your next burns, your wick should be between 1/8-1/4" before lighting. You’ll want to do this before every burn to prevent a wild flame and ensure a smooth burn.
It’s also common to see "mushrooming" or bulbous wick ends after longer burns, this can cause your candle to be smoky when first lit. A smoking wick can cause ugly marks on the jar, so a quick snip is key to a clean light.
Give your candle time to melt
Wild Ruby candles are made with a coconut apricot wax, which performs best when a full melt pool is formed. Usually, 2-3 hours is all it takes to establish a clean melt.
Creating a melt pattern helps the candle “remember” its melt for future burns. This will help to avoid the tunneling look on the wax from short burns.
*Remember to blow out all burning candles before leaving your home.
